Fine circa 1860 cut glass vase, double overlay cut to clear, possibly Boston & Sandwich Co or fine Bohemian cutting, triple layer-blue, white and clear, excellent cut scrolls, quatrefoils, oval/round punty and shaped flutes, notched/cut rim, solid knop on pedestal base, heavy blank, 12” tall, 5.5” dia/rim. Condition – excellent, no chips or nicks. - A beautiful excellent quality example, triple layers of glass. (344) - Boston & Sandwich Company worked in this type glass 1850’s-1870’s. - The circular facets were called “cut punty” in an original 1865 B&S catalogue. |

C 1850 pair Acanthus candlesticks, clambroth, cornflower blue sockets, Boston and Sandwich Glass Co, 1840-1865, hexagonl shape, acanthus leaf motif, socket and standard are joined with a partially wiped wafer, gloss finish, not “sand” or “partial sand” finish often seen, this is good clear/gloss surface, the glass has typical “straw” marks/striations/small bubbles found in this early glass, this is one of the medium sized versions in this sought after pattern, 7.75” tall, 3.75” base/widest angle.
